Legislation mandates that all used motor oil in Brazil must be re-refined. Disposal in any other manner is an environmental crime. Disposal is regulated by the enactments of the National Environmental Council (CONAMA) and by the directives of the National Petroleum Agency (ANP). Lwart Lubrificantes collects used oil from numerous sources, such as service stations, oil change centers, repair shops, factories, and transportation companies, in accordance with CONAMA Resolution No. 362, art. 2-V.

In order to regulate the used oil market, collection centers are qualified and credentialed by the environmental regulatory agencies of each of Brazil’s states. All of Lwart’s industrial activities, from collection to transport to storage, are certified by the respective agencies and receive operating licenses from them.
